Kissmea Adams - Manager: Resource Development and Communications
Kissmea holds a Teachers Diploma and has worked for several years as a teacher and then Principal of an Early Learning Centre in Green Point. Kissmea worked as a Fundraiser for The Children's Trust, before she took the position as Manager of Resource Development and Communications at SASDI. Her passion has always been for children, especially the orphans and vulnerable children living in impoverished communities around Cape Town.

Chelsea Amor Lotz - Project Analyst
Chelsea Amor Lotz has spent the past few years working for various non-profit organisations in the UK and South Africa. Her sales and marketing expertise and business acumen has meant that she has helped to facilitate individual projects as well as assisting international NPOs. She started with Peace Mala in Wales, speaking on behalf of the Art of Living Foundation, and assisted with the start up of the Rocking The Daisies advertising film, as well as helping to facilitate the collection of hundreds of items for Masiphumelele. In 2011, Chelsea represented the Youth of Africa at the United Nations Ministerial Round Table in Geneva, Switzerland, speaking about the future of education for children. Chelsea has also written for various publications including SA Good News and National Geographic.
Taryn Grant - Project Co-ordinator
Taryn holds a BA LLB degree from UCT and is an admitted attorney with management experience in non-profits. Before she took up the position of Project Co-ordinator at SASDI, Taryn worked as Programme Manager at Tholulwazi Uzivikele, an NGO based in rural KwaZulu-Natal. Taryn is passionate about uplifting young children in poverty-stricken areas of South Africa and is working hard to ensure that the Starting Chance™ Campaign is a huge success.

Ian Corbett - Chairman
Ian is a Knowledge Management consultant, geologist, lecturer at UCT and founder trustee of SASDI. Ian holds an Honours degree in Geology (Durham), MSc in Applied Sedimentology (Reading), PhD in Geology and Mineralogy (UCT) and an Advanced Management Diploma (Oxford). Ian has extensive international experience and is passionate about developing leaders and high performing teams. He is an associate of Warwick Business school's knowledge and Innovation network (KIN). Ian has over 25 years' experience in the corporate sector.

Stuart Hendry - Director Special Projects
Stuart is a SASDI founder trustee and specialist in Entrepreneurial Leadership Training.He is a Lecturer and Programme Convenor at the University of Cape Town and holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics (UCT), Bachelor of Laws Degree (UNISA), and Postgraduate Diploma in Organisation and Management (UCT). Stuart was the winner of the prestigious CHED award for Outstanding Collaborative Teaching at UCT and in 2010, he won an International award for Distinguished Research in the field of Entrepreneurship Training.

Ali Corbett - Secretary of the Board
Ali is qualified as a Teacher (UCT) with Dip Spec ED (Unisa) and a Diploma in Management (IPM). She is a SASDI founder trustee. Since 1995, Ali has run her own business, Cape for Kids, which won an environmental award for excellence. She has written 6 children's books and a book on the history of Oranjemund, 'Diamond Beaches'. It is her dream to uplift and offer a 'starting chance' to children who have not had opportunities in their lives.

Carl Nielsen - Finance
Carl is a Chartered Accountant (SA) having studied Business Science at UCT followed a Post Grad Diploma in Accounting. He served 3 years of articles at Deloitte, during which time he had the opportunity to work for a few months in both the USA and Canada. Thereafter he joined his father in a small accounting practice handling mostly CC's and individuals, and also serves as the part-time Financial Manager at the Students Christian Organisation. Carl is committed to community development and environmental stewardship. He is also a perennial volunteer at Habitat for Humanity.

Thembalihle Sidaki - Advocate
Lihle is an advocate of the High Court of South Africa and member of the Cape Bar. He attended Justice College in Pretoria and obtained B.Iuris and LLB degrees from UNISA. For 10 years he worked in various capacities as a Public Prosecutor, including being a Senior Manager in the National Prosecuting Authority and conducting proceedings in the Western Cape High Court as Senior State Advocate. Lihle worked as Assistant Ombudsman to the Ombudsman for Long-Term Insurance, for 4 years. Lihle is Rotary District Secretary and a Trustee of SASDI. He is committed to community development and helping those who are less fortunate.
